About Gill Shaw :

Gill Shaw is an internationally acclaimed, award winning professional photographer with a charisma that enables her to capture the warmth and candor of all her clients. In addition to capturing the essence of many top celebrities, Gill often photographs the royal family including HRH Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry. She has been hired for prestigious events and engagements worldwide and has received several awards for her talent. In her book, Slightly Offstage, Gill combines some of her best photographs with stories and anecdotes about her candid encounters. In her shoots, she is well known for her offbeat style and casual sincerity.

A dedicated philanthropist, Gill is especially involved with the Society of Stars which provides support for children and adults who have cerebral palsy. Her passion for photography was sparked by the death of a close family friend who was killed during his assignment as a war correspondent covering the last Afghan war. He left his camera to Gill. Since then, she has made a name for herself in show business photography. She is frequently in the news for her work and is an associate of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and the Master Photographers Association. As a speaker, Gill captivates her audience through her sense of humor, insightful perspective and informal anecdotes about many of Britain's more formal figures and inspirational.  Also a motivational speaker, Gill often makes the UK college circuit.

She has been commissioned by many famous people to capture intimate and special moments in their lives. Gill's exhibition of 200 celebrity photographs toured the UK in 1999 in conjunction with her first book, 'Slightly Offstage', both of which raised money for children and adults with cerebral palsy. Many of the photographs are signed by the celebrities.

Gill Shaw was awarded Photographer of the Year 2007 and in October of 2009 Gill Shaw received a Special Recognition Award for inspirational work raising funds for Charity.  Ms. Shaw has done amazing work for many charities.  Her second book 'The Hero Inside' launched on September 17th, 2009 to raise funds for Help for Heroes, which is a charity dedicated to supporting the wounded soldiers. Help for Heroes provides practical direct support to those servicemen and women wounded in the line of duty in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. 'The Hero Inside' is full of amazing photographs and moving stories about Heroes.
