Dennis Strawderman as Raleigh, Sir Walter

About Dennis Strawderman as Raleigh, Sir Walter :

Sir Walter Raleigh

Hero of an Age: 1554-1618

In a Golden age there lived a man, a Knight, who through his daring and ambition led the way to starting the colonies and the nation we call America.  Sir Walter Raleigh possessed a colorful personality that defined the term Renaissance man.  He had more adventures in his lifetime than most people could ever imagine. He rose from humble beginnings to become the Guard and Protector of Queen Elizabeth, the founder of the colony on Roanoke Island, and he led the venture of Virginia. He was also the architect for the English defeat of the Spanish Armada, and he was considered to be one of the foremost poets of the Elizabethan era. He was known as an explorer, pirate, soldier, and courtier,  but to many he was nothing more than a common scalawag.  He was also the gentleman adventurer famous for throwing his cape down over a puddle just to save the Queen’s shoes!  Sir Walter Raleigh was truly the hero of an age.
