Dennis Strawderman
About Dennis Strawderman :
Dennis Strawderman portrays some of the most important, yet popularly unrecognized figures of early American history. With over 25 years of experience as a historical interpreter, Dennis is a true professional; he brings excitement and enthusiasm to every engagement. Whether it is portraying Christopher Newport at the 1st Landing re-creation for the Jamestown 400th Anniversary, or as Sir Walter Raleigh at an elementary school or corporate meeting, he will always leave his audience wanting more. His knowledge of his characters is second to none, and as a true historian, he could teach a college level class on the characters he portrays.
As the one-armed Captain Christopher Newport, Strawderman brings to life the savvy sailor who staked the first claim at what is now Richmond, VA. Strawderman also portrays Governor Thomas Dale, an ambitious and progressive leader in early 17th century Virginia, and Sir Walter Raleigh, a true Golden age hero. These men were three of the central figures to shape Virginia.
