Dennis Bigelow - as James Monroe

About Dennis Bigelow - as James Monroe :

Dennis Bigelow’s experience as a Screen Actors Guild performer only enhances his passionate portrayal of James Monroe, America’s “fifth and forgotten” president. For years, Bigelow has served in Virginia as the Monroe interpreter at Ash Lawn-Highland, near Jefferson’s Monticello. Bigelow’s connection to Monroe transcends resemblance and manner since he is also the ancestral nephew of Monroe’s life-long friend Chief Justice John Marshall. In his presentations, “Bigelow breathes life into Monroe, an image previously blurred and murky, carried along by a doctrine, stripped of its author’s humanness and many accomplishments.”

As a Fortune 500 communications specialist and a Screen Actors Guild Performer, Dennis Bigelow anchored “Today in Banking” for Satellite Conference Network and was a spokesperson for USA Today. During his vice presidency of New York’s Veterans Hospital Radio and Television Guild, Bigelow was recognized by Veterans Affairs “for his effectiveness in drama therapy” with hospitalized veterans. Bigelow teaches history through Louisa Teamworks/Piedmont VA Community College. He served as a U.S. Marine officer 1967-70, with assignment to Armed Forces Radio & TV before going to Vietnam.
